Processed and reconciled all Gift Card transactions for U.S. and Canada. Manually reconciled U.K. Gift Cards on a monthly basis. Processed journal entries and reconciled all Drawer Fund, Petty Cash, Gift Cards, and Gift Certificates. Worked with our internal IT department and our third party gift card processor to obtain more accurate and complete reporting. This allowed us to more accurately process breakage and eventually led to the automation of much of my job.Prepared all sales data for Internal and External Audit. While working to clean up the Franchise Gift Card Funding account, I found that our third party processor had over billed fees by $181,615.28. I alerted Marketing and partnered with them and the processor to get this money back.I researched how our system automatically processed end of month Drawer Fund "sweep." This process was increasing the general ledger Drawer Fund amount, without matching the actual Drawer Fund for each salon. I created a standardized Drawer Fund process, which eliminated this issue going forward.

Sales and Use Tax, Personal Property Tax, Account Reconciliations, Research.Responsible for maintaining sales tax rates in the point of sale system for state, county, and city levels for all of the U.S. Obtained all sales tax registration numbers for all jurisdictions.Annually applied for certification of Urban Enterprise Zones where applicable.Prepared the monthly wire transfers to our third party tax preparation company. Balanced the data received from our third party tax company to the wires that were sent to them for payment to all jurisdictions. Once balanced, prepared journal entries for our general ledger.At month end, gathered all sales data to send to our third party tax company for them to prepare all sales and use tax returns.Maintained an Issues Log to discuss discrepancies of what was collected versus what was being paid by our third party tax company.Prepared monthly sales and use tax returns not sent out to our third party company.For four months out of each year, I was also responsible for preparing assigned personal property tax returns in addition to my other responsibilities.Finally, I was responsible for following up on all notices received. When necessary, would call jurisdictions to verify any rate changes in order to keep our rates and returns accurate.
