Analyzing policies being considered by the Texas House of Representatives during the 87th Legislative Session. Assigned to House Committee on Appropriations and led policy analyst through the analysis of amendments during budget week in the Texas House of Representatives.

Civic Engagement Post Hurricane Harvey: Qualitative research involving transcription of focus groups and interviews, thematic analysis, coding and cleaning data, tracking process, and identification of themes appearing in data.

The SUSTAIN Center at University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work is part of a concentrated effort to address the Southern AIDS epidemic by reducing HIV-related health disparities, building awareness, advancing education, and reducing stigma. The SUSTAIN Center’s focus is on mental health, trauma-informed care, substance use (especially harm reduction and the opioid epidemic) and wellness in the context of HIV/AIDS. My roll consisted of: advocacy work raising awareness through community outreach and campus canvassing; manuscript support; the creation of a facilitator training manual to guide the restructuring community organizations towards utilizing a harm reduction model; and data collection in the form of transcription and managing pretests and posttests creation.
