I've been in the industry for, going on, 5 years now. I started out as a rep. I love meeting new people and educating them on the product and procedures. My favorite part of being the representative of a company is giving out swag!! Who doesn't love gifts? And I love giving them! My rule of thumb was quarterly, spring, summer, fall, winter. Everyone is happy to see you but, you also get all the complaints. LOL it was still fun! I quickly worked my way up to project manager/specialist. This was a bit of a learning curve for me. instead of selling $10 pepper sprays or $65 stun guns (Which I've done as a side hustle for years), I was selling $7,000-$75,000 projects. A lot scarier and more tedious. No room for error. I love working with my customers start to completion. Over the years I've learned to treat each project if it were my own. I have sympathy for my customers and understand a lot of people save up and only do a remodel once in a lifetime. I try not to give my opinion too much but, I love when people ask for it! Maybe I'll do interior design next?!
