Customer Service Associate
The primary function of the Customer Service Associate (CSA) is to assist customers with all of their shopping needs. This includes assisting customers in the selection, demonstration, preparation and loading of merchandise. I am required to respond to customer inquiries and support them throughout their shopping experience including promoting customer loyalty plans and/or extended protection/replacement plans where appropriate. I am to sign customers up for our Lowe's Credit Cards. This entails verifying personal information and and entering in our system for approval from the credit company.Upon approval, a temporary card would printed off for the customer until a real card came in the mail. I am in the paint and home decor departments and also flooring. I am able to mix paint, cut blinds, cut carpet and tile. I have to be knowledge able and keep up to date on my training for all of the products and services offered in the store. I am trained to listen to customers issues and provide solutions for all of their projects. I am certified on all of the power equipment in the store such as the fork lift(sit down, propane), order picker, and narrow aisle reach(standing forklift). I am also responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment by conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping store areas clean and organized, and monitoring for potential theft or security risks. Lastly, I am responsible for completing all other duties as assigned by my supervisors.
Sales Supervisor
As a supervisor, I supported the management team in order to maximize the financial output of the store through the optimization of talent, operational execution and delivery of a rewarding experience for customers and associates. I was to drive sales to exceed financial goals and drive productivity and efficiency to achieve desired results. I had to train associates for job proficiency and expected behaviors, coach associates and provide timely feedback, support a team-driven atmosphere, and ensure and model a helpful customer experience. I had to process defects, destroy, special handling returns, managed waste and open box in adherence to policies. I also had to ensure our budget was met and exceeded everyday, and make a plan to hit our non-merchandise sales goals.
Department Manager
As Department Manager, I was primarily responsible for enabling and empowering a team of Customer Service Associates (CSAs) to deliver the best possible customer service experience in the store. This includes responsibility for customer facing activities on the sales floor like greeting customers, listening and probing to understand needs, identifying solutions, as well as non-customer facing activities like downstocking, inventory management and area recovery. I was responsible for coaching, mentoring, training, and continually monitoring Customer Service Associates in my area. I was department manager of Paint, Home Decor, and Home Organization. Between the three departments, I was managing a 5 million dollar company within my store. This requires broad product knowledge and the ability to engage employees and customers across departments. I was a store trainer for the power equipment, such as the forklift(seated, propane), order picker and narrow aisle reach(standing forklift). I performed weekly cycle counts on items throughout the department for inventory control. I was responsible for driving sales and hitting our targets. As as customer service associate 4, that is the highest level of CSA you can be with Lowe's. It was my responsibility to ensure customers were taken care of, shelves were stocked and presentable, and have essential knowledge of the entire store and its work stations. I was cutting boards to size, carpet and tile, blinds, electrical wire, keys, and glass. I was rekeying locks, threading pipe, mixing paint, and cutting wiring shelving. I was certified on all power equipment, such as the forklift(seated, propane), order picker, and narrow aisle reach(standing forklift). I was required to respond to customer inquiries and support them throughout their shopping experience including promoting customer loyalty plans and/or extended protection/replacement plans where appropriate. I had to stay up to date on my training for all of the products and services offered in the store. I was a floating customer service associate. I spent most of my time in paint and outside garden. I had to be able to perform in a fast paced and unpredictable outdoor environments. I was also responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment by conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping store areas clean and organized, and monitoring for potential theft or security risks.

As assistant manager I had to have knowledge of the whole store. I made the weekly schedules, cut meat, packed produce, ran register, stocked shelves, prepared deposits, ordered merchandise from vendors, unloaded trucks and did the daily and weekly spreadsheets. I trained new employees how to run the register, clean the store, and provide excellent customer service. I was on call if a freezer or cooler went out and had to have the know-how to fix the problems. I was the stand-in manager if the store manager ever went on vacation. I had to contact vendors to get certain products in the store. I had to learn how to cut meat. I was manager over 4 people. We were a small, family owned business. I ensured all of the opening and closing procedures were in place and that the store was ran up to code. I made sure the cash office was in order. I had to train my replacement when a full time position became available at Lowe's.
