Congressional Run (MO-07)

Duties:Develop and implement a comprehensive government affairs strategy for three key jurisdictions (US, UK, EU) with a focus on digital media, education technology, and AI.•Represent the Institute at national conferences and meetings with policymakers at all levels of government.•Manage all coalition partnerships, including the KOSA Coalition and Design With Kids in Mind.•Assist federal Senate offices in evaluating the efficacy and language of various bills.•Act as a subject matter expert on the research regarding screens & child development to proposed legislation.•Craft legislative language for bills at the state and federal levels.•Draft statements and position papers on behalf of the Institute.•Craft policy talking points and fact sheets for the Executive Director’s interviews on regional and national media.•Lead recruitment efforts for five high-ranking positions throughout the organization.Notable Accomplishments:•Represented the Institute at NYC Mayor’s working group regarding “the national crisis of social media and youth mental health.”•Recruited two postdoctoral coordinators, a marketing director, a graphic designer, and a project coordinator.•Created the Institute’s standard rubric for evaluating legislation and sign-on opportunities.

Created and maintained an agency-wide knowledge management process for information sharing at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The KM program was so successful, multiple business units (IT, HR, etc.) adopted it. The program was eventually rolled out agency-wide.Duties:•Represent Customer Support at the Enterprise Change Control Board to authorize or deny major changes to the agency’s IT infrastructure.•Act as the agency-wide authority on knowledge management, including issue resolution and training.•Provide information about the agency’s use of technology to the CIO and Comptroller.•Develop OCC's standardized exit interview process to capture institutional knowledge otherwise lost.•Engage with multiple comptrollers and banking executives.•Supervise all upgrades (monthly and quarterly) to the ServiceNow app, where the knowledge base was hosted.•Create and review KPIs for adoption, usage of high-value content, and summarize outcomes for OCC.•Communicate and develop trusting relationships with all business units.Notable Accomplishments:•Created an agency-wide IT database from nothing except a SharePoint framework.•Longest-tenured ITCS Representative to the Enterprise Change Control Board.•Spent two years as the manager of the Integrated Enterprise Services team.•Prevented an emergency deployment of the SolarWinds application. The board’s vote was 4-1; I held out due to security concerns. (SolarWinds was the gateway for a major cyber infiltration by a foreign government in 2020.)
