Procurement of Materialso Provide prices for all materials included in project plans and drawingso Identify potential suppliers and new productso Contact a range of suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain quotations and agree delivery timeo Ensure that orders are authorized by General Manager before proceeding o Keep detailed records and maintain a well-organized work scheduleo Assess the reliability of sub-contractors and supplierso Deal effectively with challenges with regards to suppliers and the flow of materialso Ensure compliance with the safety, health and environment requirements of materials and services (this includes quality certificates for relative materials i.e. pipe batch certificates o Provide advice to the project estimator on the predicted cost of individual itemso Liaise closely with the estimator at the tendering stage to ensure that an accurate project cost is providedo Prepare and maintain cost reports in order to maximize efficiency within the businesso Negotiate and agree the most favourable terms possible with suppliers once a contract has been secured.4.
