In her role as a Supervisory Health Care Administrator, Ms. Solimon will provides leadership, administration, and implementation of behavioral health initiatives, grant programs, and activities in the Indian Health Service (IHS) Division of Behavioral Health (DBH).

Serves as the National Program Coordinator for the Substance Abuse and Suicide Prevention Program (formerly the Methamphetamine & Suicide Prevention Initiative (MSPI)) and the Domestic Violence Prevention (DVP) program for the Indian Health Service (IHS) funded Tribes, Tribal organizations, urban Indian organizations, and IHS federal awardees. Provides national project management and oversight for the 113 SASP & DVP projects, programmatic and grant technical assistance and management, and national evaluation guidance to projects as well as general national project oversight. A total of 6+ years managing two multi-million grant programs with support from a small team of trained technical assistance staff.

Served as the Project Officer and subject matter expert for methamphetamine & suicide prevention initiative (MSPI) and the domestic violence prevention initiative (DVPI) for the IHS Area projects. Provides technical assistance, evaluation consultation and research guidance to Tribal programs and general project oversight.

Provided management for the Healthy Indian Country Initiative (HICI) project; provided technical assistance to 13 Tribal grantees to aid in the creation of the HICI Promising Prevention Practices Resource Guide and online resource guide.
