Responsible for patient care in an in-patient rehabilitation center, working collaboratively in a multi-discipline environment and taking on roles of increasing responsibility. Accountable for patient rehabilitation and successful discharge / re-entry into the community. In addition to PTA role, called on to provide administrative functions such as staff scheduling; staff trainer; and documentation audits. Achievements include:• Responsible for scheduling physical therapists and PTA’s on weekends and selected weekdays. Role includes identification of appropriate staff, given patient status and need, and ensuring they are scheduled properly and on-hand. • Responsible for discharge documentation review prior to patient discharge on selected days. Review includes assessment for completeness and escalation / resolution in the case of missing documentation. Essential function for comprehensive Medicare reimbursement. • ACEit Documentation Coach. Considered a subject matter expert in ACEit documentation system, training both new hires and existing staff. Staff resource for ACEit issues and questions. • Completion of Amputee Rehabilitation course work. Successful applied course principles for amputee rehabilitation at CHI St. Joseph’s. • Clinical instructor for student rotations from Blinn College. • Achieved STOP Trainer certification. Currently a STOP Trainer for CHI St. Joseph’s.

I worked other childcare staff to plan and implement creative and engaging activities for infants and children, ages ranging from 6 weeks old through 5th graders. I communicated with parents on a daily basis on the status of their child, as well as communicating with staff as to the status of a child throughout the day.

I worked with church staff to plan and implement engaging activities for infants and children in a Sunday School setting. I communicated with parents about what the child learned that day, as well as how the child behaved and any relevant information about the child's stay in the daycare.

As an unpaid student intern, my duties at Tillman's were to assist the physical therapist and ensure that the exercises assigned to the patients were completed. My other responsibilities included patient interaction, sanitizing equipment, filing patient charts, and receptionist duties.
