As the Sales Manager for Exactal, I handled sales in Australia and New Zealand. Exactal was established in October 2003 to develop estimating software for the construction industry. Our resulting product CostX combines a world-leading on-screen takeoff system with an integrated workbook for preparing estimates, Bills of Quantities, cost plans etc, making it the complete estimating solution for quantity surveyors, builders, estimators and subcontractors.

My role required learning project specific software to an expert level at a rapid pace. Once this was achieved I developed training material; held instructional workshops and liaised with the programming department to implement client desirable enhancements and improve the overall intuitive design of the software. My role also included testing the software after enhancements had been implemented and suggesting design improvements.

I created innovative solutions tailored to improve Higher Education teaching challenges. Some solutions included:- Interactive mobile application - used as an audience response system- Homework Management System designed to reduce academic workload by providing a mechanism that creates multi-field algorithmic questions. Responses and recorded and saved to a grade book.
