Throughout my time at NC State I have gained valuable technical, communication, professional, and teamwork skills. Collaborating with peers to solve problems daily has prepared me to handle any problem that comes my way. NC State's labs and equipment have also given me experience with industry standard machines to prepare me for a career.My summer internship at Belt Concepts gave me invaluable experience working in a manufacturing setting. I have gained experience in mechanical design, testing, conducting time trials, and research. I competed projects in the mechanical, industrial, and textile areas while keeping efficiency and improvement at the forefront. My summer internship at Union Pacific allowed me to develop my management and technical skills in a fast paced environment. I worked on individual and collaboarative projects to increase efficiency in the shop with the focus on continuous improvement. I also conducted the economic analysis of a project to advocate for the capital funding while at the corporate office. Working with craftspeople daily helped me develop my communication and leadeship skills.My technical skills include a proficiency in MATLAB, Solidworks, and Excel. During my internships I used Excel to organize and calculate data. In school and work I use Solidworks to provide visual representation of designs for development and fabrication. I use MATLAB to run calculations and trials in a more efficient manner.In all areas of life, I strive to produce creative and innovative solutions to problems. I excel at working in teams and listening to a diverse range of perspectives. I have a passion for engineering and constantly seek environments to develop and apply my skills.
