The McMaster Institute for Research on Aging is a collaborative research agenda to facilitate and support aging research among all six faculties across McMaster University. We aim to generate multi-disciplinary partnerships, and to help produce research that involves and benefits aging individuals.My role is to foster and maintain research partnerships across the university, and to identify funding opportunities and mobilize researchers around those opportunities.

HIV Associated Neurocognitive Disorder (HAND) affects roughly half of HIV-positive people as they age, causing mild to moderate cognitive impairment. My work with this project has included: Conducting psychometric assessments and clinical interviews, data collection and analysis, research protocol writing, building and maintenance of a large patient database, and supervision and support of student researchers, presenting findings at conferences, and communicating with hospital research support to maintain study approval.
