Responsible for leading NYUAD’s Visiting Student Programs to provide a growing number ofstudents from other NYU campuses with intensive intellectual growth and personal development opportunities through a semester or year of study abroad in Abu Dhabi.

Responsible for facilitating a shared vision and the management of the Residential Education team of 8 full-time professional staff members, 5 Faculty Fellows in Residence, and 50 student leaders. Oversee a comprehensive student housing system which encompasses 3 Residential Colleges with 1300 students and deliver support services that focus on the students’ wellbeing, integration, and engagement within the residential community.

Transitioned from start up to Saadiyat Island, NYUAD’s permanent campus and oversaw all aspects of Residential Education in the implementation of the first residential college system in the Middle East, which houses approximately 850 diverse local and international students. Supervised and mentored a team of 6 full time professional staff, who administered day to day community development initiatives and programs for their residential areas to support 30 Resident Assistants (RA). Directed the professional staff recruitment and selection process. Managed NYUAD’s inaugural Faculty Fellows in Residence (FFIRs) program; facilitated a 9 week compulsory seminar-style course for first year students. Served as member of the Student Response Team (SRT) on a weekly on call rotation for emergency response.

Provided leadership and direct supervision of 15 Resident Assistants and 2 Residential Education Fellows. Advised Hall Council and hosted weekly meetings with executive board members and general assemblies. Oversaw the petty cash procedures for the department and co-managed the operational budget. Provided appropriate response to student concerns including crisis situations, behavioral and student conflicts. Fostered learning and developmental opportunities for our students through programming initiatives.

Supervised, trained, and evaluated 2 professional staff members, 1 Graduate Assistant, 15 Resident Assistants, and 5 Office Assistants; made recommendations for staff hiring, promotion, and payroll. Managed a residence hall with 575 first year students, overseeing the daily operations including check-in/check-outs, room assignments, room changes, summer housing, facility repair and housekeeping. Adjudicated student conduct meetings, and implemented educational and developmental sanctions. Assisted with department initiatives that focused on first year and international students’ acclimation. Provided crisis intervention, counseling services, and resolved conflicts for students during and after hours. Managed an operational budget of approximately $20,000; reallocated budget according to building needs.

Managed an upper-class residence hall with 168 residents. Fostered a hall environment conducive to residents’ personal growth, academic achievement and individual responsibility. Supervised, trained, and provided ongoing development for 6 resident assistants. Adjudicated student conduct code policy violation cases and implement educational sanctions.

Assisted First Year Adviser in maintaining and enforcing university policy, responding to emergency situations and overseeing the daily operations of a building of 244 first-year students. Co-supervised and trained 8 resident assistants. Provided academic advising for 60 students, assisted with class selection, explained graduation requirements and acted as a referral agent for campus resources. Advised hall council providing support and guidance, while empowering the members to develop hall-wide programs and address hall-wide issues.
