About Audrey Straw
I am currently a student at George Washington University pursuing a Master's Degree in International Development Studies. In May of 2023, I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston with a BA in International Relations with minors in public policy, theatre, and anthropology. At UMass Boston, I've had experience as the GROW Program Assistant in the Office of Student Leadership and Community Engagement. In this position, I organize and run leadership and social justice workshops that aim to develop students' professional skills through interactive activities and researched presentations. I have also worked as the Advocacy Assistant at the Women's Fund of Western Massachusetts, where I helped to develop a social media advocacy toolkit and helped create resources to create an extensive advocacy network.My professors, classmates, and peers would describe me as a motivated leader, who's a passionate, organized, and hardworking organizer. I have had a lot of leadership and public speaking experience as the President of UMass Boston's Model United Nations team. I have held this position for three years, and have worked to transition the club from an online to an in-person experience.I will be graduating in May of 2025. After this, I'm excited to pursue a career within the federal government. In the meantime, I hope to continue learning about ways to better the world and I hope to build a solid professional and social network.
