– Initiated the Mitchell Program's first strategic planning process and worked with the Mitchell Program's founding director and staff to carry out strategic visioning and procedural planning for the program's portfolio of work.– Supported the Mitchell Program's partnership with the U.S. Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Movement, including by developing weekly social media campaign kits shared with the movement's 200+ supporting organizations.– Co-organized the Carter School's Spring 2021 Peace Week focusing on "Peace and Anti-Racism in the United States and the World", which included providing planning support for over 20 events, coordinating logistics with the organizing team and the event hosts, supporting the marketing of Mitchell Program events, and serving as the sole organizer and moderator for two events: "The Community Relations Service and the Carter School Story" (March 23) and "An Evening of Art for Social Change" (co-organized with Busboys and Poets, March 25).– Coordinated and facilitated team meetings for Mitchell Program staff members and volunteers.– Managed the Mitchell Program's communications portfolio, which included managing the Mitchell Program's social media and website presence; supervising the work of an undergraduate research assistant and undergraduate intern; and carrying out a visioning process that led to the creation of the Mitchell Program's first written and visual Branding Guide, which is based on ethical storytelling and narrative change principles.

– Worked with the Mitchell Program's founding director and other staff to develop a comprehensive communications strategy built upon principles of ethical storytelling and narrative change.– Provided editorial and research support as part of the Mitchell Program's contributions to the anti-racism and inclusion initiatives of the Carter School and George Mason University, including for the Carter School's Anti-Racism Statement.– Provided communications and planning support for the Mondays in June virtual event series in June 2020 (partners: Busboys and Poets and Maryland Lynching Memorial Project), including marketing the events through social media, the program's website, and email newsletters; coordinating with high-profile event speakers; developing the run of show for each event; communicating with audience members; and providing facilitation and technological support during the events.– Developed grant proposals for the Mitchell Program's research projects, including successful proposals for a $300,000 grant from the Emmett Till Cold Case Investigations Program at the Department of Justice (in partnership with the Maryland Lynching Truth and Reconciliation Commission) and a $5,000 grant from Virginia Humanities.– Wrote copy and created graphic design elements for the Mitchell Program's social media, website, and publications.– Served as the Content Editor for Freedom's Plow, the online literary magazine of the Mitchell Program.

Research, editing, and writing:– Wrote multiple sections for and edited the 2017 Annual Review of U.S.-Turkey Relations.– Edited sixteen factsheets, issue briefs, and analyses on a variety of topics ranging from the startup ecosystem in Turkey to work permit regulations for Syrian refugees.– Wrote five factsheets, one analysis, and one issue brief on subjects such as educational exchanges between the U.S. and Turkey and major developments in U.S.-Turkey relations.– Led the conceptualization, creation, and maintenance of THO's blog, Meddah: A U.S.-Turkey Storytelling Project.– Created and managed the Turkish Heritage Weekly Review, THO's email newsletter, sent every week without interruption starting in Oct. 2016.Nonresident fellowship program:– Coordinated the development of the program from scratch among three team members who were working remotely.– Oversaw the promotion of the fellowship call for applications.– Developed drafts of the strategic plan and budget.– Corresponded with applicants and conducted the first round of finalist interviews.Summer 2018 Research Program in Turkey– Provided support to the development and execution of the inaugural Summer Research Program in Turkey, which took researchers to Istanbul, Ankara, and Gaziantep to studying migration and refugee policy.– Coordinated with the program researchers on the drafting and publication of blog posts for Meddah.– During the program, provided general logistical support to the THO team lead, the academic guide, and the researchers, which included providing translation between Turkish and English for select meetings.– Provided coverage of the program on THO's social media accounts and on Meddah.Event planning and support:– Led the planning and moderation of three events: a May 2017 roundtable on U.S.-Turkey academic exchanges, a November 2017 panel on education for displaced Syrians, and a February 2018 roundtable on prospects for U.S.-Turkey relations in 2018.

– Conducted research on the role of non-state actors in Turkey’s relations with Sub-Saharan Africa. Methodology included content analysis and expert interviews.– Contributed to the work of Ankara University’s Center for African Studies (AÇAUM), including updating news sections on AÇAUM’s website and developing proposals for future partnerships and projects.– Conducted a weekly academic writing workshop at Ankara University.– Provided editorial support for the Florya Chronicles of Political Economy (Volume 2, Number 2 – ISN: 2149-5750), an academic journal of Istanbul Aydın University’s Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.

– Provided research and administrative support for an international working group study on opportunities and recommendations for non-state donors seeking to contribute to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) missions in nuclear security and technical cooperation. – Coordinated with partners from the United States Institute of Peace to organize roundtable briefings on conflict resolution for Congressional staff.

– Researched and wrote a report on leveraging the IAEA’s existing mandate and portfolio of activities to address and reverse 21st-century nuclear proliferation trends in the developing world.– Organized and conducted meetings and interviews with actors from the government, academia, civil society, and the media in Istanbul and Ankara in April 2014; organized findings into a portfolio to guide future MAB collaboration with Turkish partners.– Conducted research and contributed writing, editing, and administrative support to MAB projects on the following subjects: border security and wildlife crime in Kenya; Brazilian South-South development and security cooperation; nuclear material security; global health security; and export controls.

– Contributed to TSF newsletters ("think." and "The Latest") and its quarterly publication ("Courier").– Researched and compiled information on various foreign policy issues.– Read and summarized books relevant to TSF work/interests, report findings.– Reviewed and edited foundation reports and publicity materials.– Attended foundation events, meetings, and seminars in Washington D.C. and Istanbul

Each semester, I helped tutor 8-10 students on two of their papers in the course to which I was assigned, focusing on areas such as paper organization, idea expression, and support for arguments and theses.

I provided support for volunteer coordination, administrative duties, event planning, and blog and newsletter content.
