The Be Your Best Self Program encourages young people nationwide to make a commitment to being their best self around five central pillars: to be healthy, ambitious, involved, responsible, and studious. As an ambassador for this program, I worked alongside middle school students, curating a lesson plan to integrate each pillar with the non-profit organization, Wishing Crane Project. The Wishing Crane Project works with volunteers to donate paper cranes to hospices and hospitals, hoping instill hope and happiness within patients (based off of the traditional Japanese story that folding a thousand paper cranes could grant one wish). Each middle schooler I worked with created five paper cranes, one for each pillar, writing down five ways they can strive to always be their best self.

Distinguished Young Women, formerly known as America’s Junior Miss, is a national scholarship program for high school girls to provide support for those seeking to pursue a higher education. As the Distinguished Young Woman of Arizona, I had the honor of attending the 67th National Finals in Mobile, Alabama during the month of June. I was evaluated on five categories of the competition: Interview (25%), Scholastics (25%), Talent (20%), Fitness (15%), and Self Expression (15%). For the State competition, I placed individually first in four of the five categories: Interview, Talent, Fitness, and Self Expression.

AYLUS is a student-run, non-profit volunteer organization where members of this community promote leadership, creativity and initiative. As a writer and editor for the national board, I worked on drafting monthly updates about current events happening around the world and worked on covering the volunteer efforts around many local AYLUS branches in the U.S.

Created visually compelling graphics and content for the social media startup, enhancing user engagement and brand visibility. Analyzed user feedback and app performance to suggest improvements to the development team.
