Currently, I work in the oldest and most successful private equity house in the Baltics. On a regular basis, I cover a wide range of both - legal and compliance - issues that regulated asset management firm faces. This includes obtaining licenses for regulated businesses with the local and foreign supervisory institutions, structuring investment vehicles and separate transactions, drafting documents that require exclusive competence and provide legal advice to executives within the firm and portfolio companies. My responsibilities also cover both active contacts with regulators and legislators related to the promotion of regulatory developments within the industry.

I was a key person covering regulatory intelligence, impact analysis and project initiation in SEB Baltic Division. My responsibilities were to oversee new and changing regulations (both international and local) and initiate as well as coordinate all regulatory projects in the SEB Baltic Division. I was entitled to directly report to Division Management and country management on the issues. Cross border responsibilities furthered skills of effective communication with distant teams and allowed to acquire practical knowledge of dealing with regulators of financial markets throughout the CEE region.

I was a part of the Compliance department of the largest general bank in Lithuania (forming part of one of the largest banking groups in Nordic and Baltic countries). I was involved in providing both legal and risk management advice in following fields of SEB's operations in Lithuania and Baltic States: investment services, general merchant banking, payment services, AML/CTF, life insurance and wealth management.During my tenure at SEB, I participated in all major interactions with the regulators (both Central bank of the Republic of Lithuania and European Central Bank) and was involved in the resolution of strategic disputes with aforementioned institutions.Being a part of the internationally acclaimed financial institution allowed me to develop project management and supervision as well as communication skills. During employment with SEB, I was able to establish a wide network of professional relationships both in the Baltic States and internationally.

Was a part of the legal department of an investment bank forming part of the largest private banking and wealth management group in the Baltic States.Provided in-house legal support to business units on general and specific issues regarding both regulatory risks and business transactions. Managed legal risks by both reactively and proactively identifying vulnerable areas and consulting in structuring actions in order to address identified risks.Initiated, participated in and developed communication with international outside legal counselors.During the employment period assisted in drafting required legal documentation and drafted ones that required special knowledge. Undertook research and conduct legal studies on problems of law arising in connection with the banks' operations and in the context of developing new instruments.Advised on issues related to financial services and regulation, banking, and investment funds.

Was a part of the legal department of the largest general bank in Lithuania forming part of one of the largest banking groups in Nordic and Baltic countries.Provided legal support for Merchant, Retail, and Investment banking divisions. Daily activities included drafting of both internal and transactional documentation and providing legal advice for employees of the bank and clients of the SEB group.Advised on issues related to financial services and regulation, banking, and investment funds.
