My story goes like this. I have a Finance background (HEC Montreal and City University, London UK). I started my carrer as an investment banker at RBC Capital Markets. Then spent 7 years at TC (Transcontinental) in M&A, strategic planning and corp dev. There, I had the opportunity to be an intrapreneur, founding Weblocal (JV between TC and a tech company in California), and scaling to over 2M unique visitors and building a team of over 75 in 24 months. This gave me the willingness and confidence to start my own business, which I did in founding SmartReno in 2012. After building a product, reaching profitability, building a great team and raising 4 rounds of financing, we successfully sold to RBC Ventures in 2019. Along this journey, I had the opportunity to serve on the Board of Anges Quebec, follow the Parcours Techno program at Ecole d'Entrepreneurship de Beauce, complete the Entrepreneur Development Program at MIT, in addition to participate in multiple jury, selection committees, demo days, mentorship programs, boards, advisory boards, while trying to remain very active and connected in the startup ecosystem. Now, I'm trying to put together investment funds and related support initiatives to help the new generation of entrepreneurs to launch or acquire businesses. This combines my skills in finance, my experience as an entrepreneur, as well as my willingness to help the new generation of entrepreneurs succeed and create value for the society. This is going to be fun.
