I am a dedicated retail worker while I am pursuing a Bachelors of Social Work at Temple University. I go into every interaction with the hope of creating a positive impact in the lives of everybody I work with. My background consists of being a cashier at Wegmans, beginning sales at Lush Cosmetics, and currently being a sales advisor at Warby Parker; through working at these places I have developed a unique skill set which prioritizes empathy and providing excellent customer service to everybody.Beginning as a cashier at Wegmans, I learned about how to approach one-on-one interactions with customers while simultaneously being timely in my transactions, a skill I continue to value in my pursuit of creating a positive change in people's lives. Working at Lush Cosmetics helped me develop my communication skills and provided me with useful sales experience. Lush encouraged me to use my proper active listening skills, maintain product knowledge, and create genuine connections with customers. These experiences have improved by ability to understand what customers need as well as strengthened my interpersonal skills. Finally, my experience at Warby Parker has reinforced my passion for helping others and leading with empathy. I have perfected my ability to help people find eyewear that suits their personality and makes them feel confident, while also keeping in mind the possible limitations of their prescriptions.All of the skills I've grown from thee jobs are contributing to my future in social work and working within a variety of communities. This all goes back to generating positivity in the lives of everybody I work with, and fostering a compassionate community. My goal is to combine what I have learned in retail with my social work education to create a meaningful change in people's lives.
