• Supervision of engineering operations in Osage County, Oklahoma. • Responsible for planning; organizing; interpreting and adapting many guidelines, engineering principles, and developing practices and procedures for oversite of approximately 1,470,000 acres; this includes approximately 18,000 producing oil, gas and injection wells and other mineral mining operations. • Responsible for issuance of plugging permits, drilling permits, and workover permits. Designs and constructs energy development projects and audits to improve data collection, retrieval and reporting. • Serves as the authoritative principle advisor on oil and gas and other mineral operations, interpreting and adapting many guidelines and engineering principles.• Responsible for investigating accidents from drilling, blowout and fires to determine the cause and provide recommendation for issuance of safety.• Review application for permit to drill. Ensure that the designs will protect the environment and personnel from hazardous materials. Ensure that rigs and the equipment are safe and can stand extreme pressure and that abandoned wells are properly plugged to protect against surface formation and other issues. • Initiate other operations related to oil and gas wells; coordinates with Branches on compliance with NEPA, NHPA and other requirement.• Render technical advice to the agency Superintendent and the Osage Nation Minerals Council • Represents the Osage Agency at unitization and engineering conferences composed of representative of major oil companies and independent operator. • Serve as gas inspector for the reservation• Drafts drilling specifications and oversee field operations for reservoir assessment and reporting purpose. Performs as an advisor to manage specific project within the Branch, Supervises geological aspects of drilling and conducts reservoir tests. • Represent the Osage Agency at negotiation with potential new lessees on Exploration and Development Agreements
