I was trained to think quickly and critically, staying focused for long periods of time (8 days with 4 hours of sleep a day). I worked at least 16 hours a day for 10 months in the battalion. Learnt that leadership is a tough and often lonely path, but highly rewarding when you see your efforts pay off. I can not explain the happiness and pride I feel when I see my team grow in terms of their work and character (more about the character because the work in NS time is hardly applicable outside camp..)The spirit of OCS 'to lead, to excel, to overcome' has been instilled into my character. And I find strength when I'm placed in a leadership position.
