She is magical! The healing she provided is more than the physical level—of course my shoulder, chest, and areas which I feel tense gets much more relaxed after our session. More importantly, along with and after the session, I felt emotionally at peace, calmed down, and grounded. August fostered an experience that is always safe, comfortable, and allows me to be at my most relaxed state of mind. I also love when she adds cupping into the session—it was a whole new experience and pain-relieving process!"L, Philadelphia

Licensed Massage TherapistWat Massage Llc. Jul 2017 - Feb 2018Washington D.C. Metro AreaProvided Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Trigger Point, Ashiatsu, and Shiatsu massageBuilt a base of clients in a short amount of timeReview from client:"Ashiatsu massage from August (masseuse) was incredible! This was my first experience with Ashiatsu, August or Wat Massage. I have, however, received many professional deep tissue massages.NOTE 1: Ashiatsu is a massage style applied using the massage technicians' feet.NOTE 2: I am 5'7, about 125lb, athletic but more on the bony side. I do not mind feet. Some reflections on my experience:1. her feet felt like soft hands only bigger. holding on to bars from the ceiling, she was able to apply broad and fluid, deep strokes that felt especially incredible on my gluts, hamstrings and calf muscles.2. it's feels so much better than how it looks in the movies/on tv. August did a great job easing me into the experience, starting with her hands and after a few minutes, switching to an elevated chair positioned beyond my head, where she sat and used her heels on my shoulders and mid/upper back. Then, she transitioned to standing on the table where she, to my knowledge, just used one foot on my body at a time. August is larger than me, so this is probably a great way to apply an appropriate amount of pressure on my body type.3. It was very relaxing. It was fluid and soft, as I mentioned. Honestly, I left feeling better than any other massage I've received. Usually, I walk away feeling a bit off (combo of pain or just having a certain part of my body worked on for a long time) but this time I just felt a bit looser. It was great.Highly recommend ashiatsu at Wat Massage, and specifically, encourage you to pay August a visit!" -

I carry tension in my shoulders and neck - when I stress I scrunch up like a turtle... It's awful, and it hurts. I was feeling especially tight this morning and decided I was going to get a massage - best. decision. this week... I was greeted by August and she took me to the room to discuss my massage. I filled out a form, similar to a medical form, but to help decide the direction of the massage or areas to focus on. August actually took the time to read through everything I wrote and then discussed what she would like to work on and how the massage would go. Then came the massage - it was AMAZING. She works slowly and methodically, pressing her hands and holding pressure as opposed to quick, repetitive movements...It was the best massage I have ever had - truly. After the massage she sat down and told me what I should work on, gave me a couple stretches and provided water and grapes. FABULOUS.I made an appointment with her immediately. It is the first time in months where I feel I can actually stand with good posture. I feel absolutely amazing. I think I love her.... :)""August was absolutely awesome. I have never fallen asleep during a massage but she put me to sleep. I really enjoyed the set-up and hospitality. I will definitely be returning. Thanks for kicking off a great birthday weekend."
