I am currently working as a researcher at the Italian Geological Survey (Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia - INGV) in Milan. My research focuses on seismology applied to engineering, with a particular emphasis on Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment (PSHA) in terms of macroseismic intensity. I am involved in the calibration and validation of macroseismic intensity attenuation models, to calculate parameters of historical seismic events from macroseismic data, in order to build homogeneous historical earthquake catalogues that can be applied to PSHA. Additionally, I am also working on the calibration of empirical relationships between macroseismic intensity and different recorded Peak Ground Motion (PGM) data (PGA, PGV, or different PSAs) for the entire Italian territory. I have had the privilege of coordinating the calibration and validation of intensity attenuation models for estimating the parameters of historical earthquakes in Italy (CPTI11 catalogue), Europe (NERIES NA4 and SHARE EU Projects), and the GEM-Global Earthquake History project. Furthermore, I have shared and applied this experience in Central Asia, the Caribbean, and South America (GEM-The South America Risk Assessment, SARA project).In 2001, I moved to Milan to begin working at the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV). In 2006, I completed my PhD at the University of Milan. My current interests lie in Open Innovation and Knowledge Transfer, which I explored further during my 2012-2013 MIT Master at the Business School of the Politecnico di Milano, with a focus on the application of Foresight in research projects.Furthermore, I have presented my research at several conferences and seminars, and my work has been published in several international scientific journals.
