I currently work as a project manager in the development of new battery powered garden tools in cooperation with Chinese OEM suppliers. In parallel to my main assignment, I coordinate the qualification process of new OEM suppliers in a multi-departmental effort within STIHL headquarters.

For two years I coordinated the collaboration between STIHL and Asian OEM suppliers in what regards engineering methods and product development of battery powered garden tools. As the main liaison between my firm and its suppliers one of my responsibilities was to check if suppliers’s processes satisfy STIHL needs, train them and negotiate suitable compromises. The products I worked with were hedge trimmers, blowers, brush cutters, pole saws and lawn mowers. The daily tasks ranged through the entire product development path and milestones starting from product definition until production ramp-up. The specific topics were mostly related to single parts approval and deviations disposal, manufacturing process capability studies, plastic injection molds design/ordering/approval, assembly line build up, drawing handling, engineering changes, commodities approval, BOM cost appraisal, testing/validation and handle together with the local supplier problems that have been escalated to management level by the project teams. That assignment required me travel to Germany every two months for reporting.

The R&D center at WEG Nantong carries out all the WEG developments and research activities in Asia. My team controls the creation and expansion of new product lines targeting new markets in China and in other countries in Asia. My daily activities and key performance indicators relate to four main topics:1. Product DevelopmentProduct development is carried out through phase-gate process. Lines developed so far include application dedicated lines 100% developed in China or lines developed in the head quarters that needed to be transfer to the productive units in China. In three years in China I participated or led the development of the product lines W11, W21-R, W21-GP, W40, W50, W60, W20-IE3 and W21-IE4 motors.2. Cost Reduction and Product OptimizationProduct convergence between WEG China and the headquarters generate designs that are not always optimized to local Chinese Market. We lead projects that aim at making our products and components standardized with GB and other Asian standards in order facilitate supply chain and reduce costs. 3. ResearchScientific research is carried out through constant benchmark studies and new components testing such as different heat treatment cycles in silicon steel lamination in order to reduce magnetic losses and lifetime testing on magnetic wires4. Technical SupportMy team provides technical support to different departments specially purchase when developing and qualifying new suppliers and after sales when field problems require more in-depth and detailed critical analysis. My team also directly interacts with domestic and global customers through technical visits aiming at exchanging knowledge and solutions to better satisfy their needs.

In my first year in China working for WEG most of my activities were related to building the foundation for product development activities in this plant that involved basically creating procedures, training and hiring employees, writing standards and creating proper KPIs. My team and I were responsible for coordinating the creation of new lines of products and lead cost reduction projects through manufacturing process optimization, development of new suppliers and electrical design improvements in already existent motors. We also gave support to the engineering team regarding special and customized motors.

Responsible for the creation and evaluation of electrical projects of rotating electrical machine, helping in research, development and technology allocation; complying with internal standards, regulations and applicable technical specifications, guaranteeing the satisfactory performance of the product according to the application. Among my attributions were: - Design customized industrial three-phase electric motors. - Give technical support to the engineering department of WEG factory in Nantong China. - Coordinate the creation of a Research and Development department at WEG Nantong - China.

Hi!China was a Chinese Mandarin school established in São Paulo/Brazil. Hi!China through an exclusive video conference platform provided 1-to-1 Mandarin classes with native Chinese Teachers to the entire world. Hi!China had a comprehensive set of learning materials created by Chinese teachers together with Brazilian experts in language teaching. My job attributions as co-founder and owner of the company was to guarantee the well functioning of the teaching platform as well as manage the daily activities of the company such as marketing, customer relationship, employees and strategic planning.

Yuxiang was an educational consulting company established by me in China. Its purpose was to give support to Hi!China Mandarin School by hiring and training teachers and develop all the teaching materials used by Hi!China. The company was registered as a WFOE (Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise) and during one and a half year I was its legal representative.

This first experience I had with language teaching was important for me to gather experience in this field and helped a lot in the development of Hi!China.
