I have always been fascinated with the design and operation of anything mechanical from an early age. When university time came around, I began to narrow my fascination to automotive where I ultimately ended up in an automotive repair degree at my local community college. After finishing the program I realized my passion for vehicles wasn't repair, but design and engineering of them. Realizing this, I narrowed my expertise to aerodynamic design. This led me to Minnesota State University, Mankato where achived a BS in Automotive Engineering. I promptly joined the Formula Society of Engineers (FSAE) team and single-handedly learned Ansys Spaceclaim and Fluent, enabling me to design and validate aerodynamic devices for our team. I self-taught fluid dynamic principals, how CFDs operate, and how to design and manufacture airfoils and aerodynamic devices. After difficulties with learning the program, I implored underclassmen to start learning Ansys and aerodynamic principles. I helped educate and manage underclassmen to leave the team better than when I joined.
