Born in Arlington, Virginia, August was raised by parents who served in education and the military, embedding in him a spirit of dedication and resilience.A Princeton graduate from the Woodrow Wilson School of International Affairs, August not only excelled academically but also set a longstanding Ivy League record in shot put, securing his spot on the U.S. Olympic Team for the 1984 Games.
