As the Head of the International Affairs Unit of the Turkish Red Crescent Youth in the Çanakkale Province, I lead and coordinate various initiatives focused on international humanitarian aid efforts and collaboration. My responsibilities involve developing and implementing strategies that support the organization's global social assistance and engagement. The key aspects of my role include:• Strategic Planning: Creating long-term plans and objectives for international programs in alignment with the mission and goals of the Turkish Red Crescent.• Coordination: Collaborating with internal departments and external partners to ensure effective coordination of humanitarian projects and activities.• Partnerships: Establishing and enhancing partnerships with organizations, NGOs, and government agencies to increase the impact and reach of humanitarian initiatives.• Project Management: Overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of projects, including disaster relief, health programs, and social development initiatives.• Advocacy: Representing the organization in international forums, advocating for humanitarian aid, and raising awareness about the initiatives of the Turkish Red Crescent.• Crisis Intervention: Coordinating rapid response teams and resources for disasters and crises to ensure timely and effective assistance.• Cultural Sensitivity: Promoting cultural understanding and sensitivity within the international relations team by respecting different perspectives and practices.In this capacity, my goal is to contribute to the global humanitarian efforts of the Turkish Red Crescent Youth, enhance collaboration, and make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.

As a Volunteer Project Officer in the Food Team of the Circular Economy Working Group, GCE I play a pivotal role in addressing the pressing issues in the European food system. My work revolves around critical objectives:1. Green Nudges and Social Pricing: I am actively involved in analyzing and advocating for the integration of green nudges and social pricing strategies in the Farm to Fork Strategy. This includes the development of a comprehensive policy paper.2. Sustainable Agriculture: In response to the new Common Agricultural Policy objectives related to the environment and climate, I work on highlighting the significance of sustainable agricultural practices. This is crucial in aligning agricultural methods with broader environmental goals.3. Digital Tools to Combat Food Waste: In the context of the Waste Framework Directive, I am responsible for evaluating the opportunities and challenges associated with the utilization of digital tools and practices. These tools are aimed at enhancing resource management and reducing food waste and loss. Success stories are shared through social media channels.4. Engaging Stakeholders: My role involves active participation in the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform. This platform provides a vital space for engaging with various stakeholders and advocating for sustainable food systems within the EU. Together, we are working towards a more resilient and environmentally responsible food supply chain.In summary, my work as a Project Officer in the Food Team is geared towards contributing to EU policies on food sustainability, waste reduction, and environmental protection. These efforts align with the goals set by the European Commission to combat food waste and drive sustainable agricultural practices in Europe.

The Molecular Biology and Genetics Community (GENÇOMÜ) at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, established in 2016-2017, aims to foster knowledge sharing, enhance scientific understanding, and stay updated on developments. Activities include the "Career Step by Step" series and ERASMUS presentations. The community, spanning diverse disciplines, conducts "Student Presentations" on various scientific topics.The Writing Club, formed in 2020, has published 170+ articles, reaching over a million clicks. Articles cover a wide scientific spectrum in English and Turkish. The Book Club, initiated in 2019, has read 11 books and holds active discussions.GENÇOMÜ organized successful annual Student Congresses, with the 5th edition in 2022. These events provide a scientific platform for participants to engage with esteemed professors. Gratitude to all participants, and anticipation for more impactful events in the future.

As a WWOOF volunteer, I typically engage in the following:• Farm Activities: Involved in various tasks related to the farm, including planting, harvesting, weeding, irrigation, and other agricultural activities. This hands-on experience allows me to learn about organic farming practices firsthand.• Livestock Care: Depending on the host farm, I sometimes assist with animal care tasks such as feeding, cleaning pens, or other livestock-related responsibilities.• Permaculture Projects: Participating in permaculture projects aimed at sustainable and regenerative agriculture. This may involve composting, building sustainable structures, or implementing eco-friendly farming techniques.• Gardening: Contributing to the maintenance and development of gardens, orchards, or other cultivated areas. This can include tasks such as planting, mulching, and soil preparation.• Educational Opportunities: Gaining insights into organic and sustainable farming practices through learning opportunities provided by the host. Hosts often share their knowledge about ecological farming methods.• Community Engagement: Immersing myself in the local community and connecting with fellow WWOOFers. This can provide broader cultural experiences and opportunities for cultural exchange.• Daily Schedule: Following an agreed-upon daily schedule that may vary based on the farm's needs and activities. Communication and collaboration are key to ensuring a positive experience for both the volunteer and the host.• Sustainability Practices: Learning and implementing sustainable lifestyle habits, including energy conservation, waste reduction, and environmentally friendly choices.• Self-Sufficiency: Acquiring skills related to self-sufficiency, such as cooking with fresh produce from the farm, preserving food, and other aspects of sustainable living.
