About Austin Pierce

My name is Austin, and I am a third-year honors student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying Political Science, Geography, and Public Policy. I strive to find the intersectionality between policy innovation and geographic influence on political development in an international setting. Working with organizations such as The Water Institute at UNC, the Political Science Department at UNC, The Cadets, and Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, I have been able to gain valuable leadership and research experience. With an end goal of human rights/environmental law, or international policy development. I am hoping to gain even more valuable experiences from both education and work experience to help me achieve my goals.At UNC I am an active member of the Executive Team for UNC Mock Trial, along with being an active member in both the Political Science and Honors departments. While being a student I also work in the restaurant industry and as a program director in the local school district. In my free time, I am an avid hiker and love exploring new cities and restaurants.
