As a protocol officer, my work entails ensuring that my principal, the Mayor of Mandaue City, Cebu, is well-managed. I ensure that his calendar is coordinated appropriately, that he is well-represented in the events he participates in, and that all his requests and directives are swiftly attended to.I'm the first to arrive and the last to leave in all of the appointments, meetings, events, and other schedules he is involved in or invited to.In events or ceremonies, I serve as an advance party protocol officer, where my task involves arriving an hour before the intended start of the program to gather relevant information and updates about the program, ensure the principal is positioned in a place optimal for interaction, and socialization, establish rapport with significant people (VIPs) present in these events so I can introduce them to the principal when he arrives, and provide proper farewells to everyone when the principal leaves.I closely work with the principal's executive assistant to be able to relay and coordinate all this information from the field to the principal.Aside from protocoling, I'm tasked to create activity designs for upcoming activities and events in our office and in the city. From time to time, I'm also involved in the organization and management of these activities and events.I'm also tasked to host events that are personally organized by the City Mayor's Office.

Verve and naught is a personal blog and a public diary containing all the highs and lows of living. It's an outlet for self-expression and it also showcases my personal work in writing.

As a science research specialist, I was entrusted with the primary task of writing articles, documenting events, and posting social media content related to the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund campaign.I managed two Facebook pages; the DA-PhilRice and RCEF Extension Program. Every month, I created a social media content calendar for drafting content, deciding and making its layout design, copywriting for its caption, and scheduling its posting date. My responsibility in managing the pages didn't only end in content creation as I was also the one who monitored, reviewed, and replied to the messages and comments both pages received.I also served as an on-camera host for a web series that aired two episodes on the RCEF Extension Program Facebook page monthly. The show featured a rice expert and aimed to answer questions farmers have about farming. My role as a host was to control the show's flow, interact with the live viewers, and encourage them to ask the rice expert about the challenges they experienced in farming.As for my other tasks, I wrote and published at least two articles per month on the PhilRice website and I also wrote for the PhilRice English Magazine (released per quarter of the year) and the PhilRice Filipino Magazine (released per semester of the year).

I write straight and feature news for the university website and I assist in media and production tasks, as well. My tasks include researching for stories, learning about the topics surrounding the potential story, establishing rapport with prospect interviewees, creating guide questions for the interview, interviewing, organizing data gathered from both the interviewees and from research, writing the story, and proofreading the story.If a layout design is not needed for my story, it's usually me who provides the photos for my articles.For live events or ongoing endeavors, I'm required to be present and immediately publish breaking stories as an update to the university's community.Once my stories are approved by my editor, I make them into instant articles on Facebook and write captions to share them on the Visayas State University Facebook page.From time to time, I'm required to give communication and administrative support to the university's media team when there are grand events that require extra manpower.

SHS-B Batch 1985 Foundation Inc. is a non-government organization that orchestrated a grand music festival for the celebration of Sinulog Festival, one of the biggest festivals in the Philippines. My role as an event coordinator was to ensure that the festival would go smoothly; I oversaw the production, budget & finance, and other logistics and technicalities for the grand show. I didn't do all the heavy lifting for this job since it was my very first one, but under the guidance of the renowned director, Juno Oebanda, and Project Chairman of SHS-B Batch 1985 Foundation, Mr. Raymond Tio, I was able to accomplish the tasks given for my role.

Philippine Rice Research, commonly known as PhilRice, is the leading agency in the Philippines that practices development communication.As a development communication student, my role as an intern was aimed at learning and imbibing the values of the degree, which is to do social interventions backed by research. We were mentored by award-winning journalists, photographers, and scientists in the field of Agriculture. Our training included organizing tasks, arranging event programs, experiencing how to plant rice, interviewing several sectors that worked with PhilRice like the Department of Agriculture, writing feature stories about farmers, immersing in farmer communities, and developing skills for photography and videography to tell compelling stories.
