In 1999, I started as a young clerk at Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) SA. I worked in the Disbursement Account department in Geneva to check all port expenses of each vessel's call in USA, UK, and in some African countries. I assisted the world's Chief Operating Officer in logistical matters. After my academic studies in Oxford and a trip around the world, I joined SDK Asset Management SA in 2002 to create one of the first islamic fund of hedge funds in the world. I selected hedge fund managers, formed a Shariah board with muslim dignitaries, implemented the appropriate structure of the fund in collaboration with Morgan Stanley, and promoted the fund in Asia and Middle East. In 2004, I was enrolled by Cereal Investment Company (C.I.C.) SA, a soft commodities trading company with its headquarter in Geneva. I handled operational and logistic issues related to the import of rice and sugar in west African countries where I developed strong business relationship with forwarders, local clients and banks. I then joined Credit Agricole (Suisse) SA in 2007 as Risk Officer for the Transactional Commodity Finance (TCF) department. I controlled the positions of the entire TCF clients' portfolio of the bank which counted over 100 clients for a total of over USD 20 billion credit limits. I analysed credit files of international commodities trading companies and multinationals and reported to the bank's top management at Paris headquarter. I moved to UBS AG in 2011 to join the Metal desk in the Commodities Trade Finance (CTF) department as Client Advisor. I contributed to the exponential growth of the clients' portfolio and managed to smoothly handle all on-boarding procedures. Credit limits varied between USD 15 million and USD 100 million for trading companies active in base metals, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, coal, coke, minerals and concentrates.In 2014, I decided to co-found Tortorici & Partners, an executive search firm, in order to leverage and expand my network in the commodities sector while using my technical skills gained through out my various work experiences. After wonderful 7 years at T&P, it was time to create another recruitment company, Commodity Trading Jobs, focusing on clients' service and candidates' support within the commodity world.I look always to adapt myself to any situation and to acquire expertise in different but related activities.
