Aurelija Djan is a Gender Equality Consultant and Gestalt Psychotherapist involved and interested in research, gender mainstreaming and human rights. She holds a Bachelor in Psychology from the University of Novi Sad and a Master in Gender Studies from Central European University, Budapest. She has ten years’ experience in the field of gender equality, data collection, policy analysis, formation, monitoring and evaluation, as well as quantitative and qualitative research. As a Gender Equality Consultant she has been working with government agencies and non-governmental organizations to promote gender equality and the rights of those who are most marginalized within society. Apart from working on a policy level, she is also working on an individual level as a licensed gestalt psychotherapist. Her task is to help her clients to explore and express their thought processes, feelings and behavior as well as develop strategies for coping with issues and for making positive changes to the way they think and behave. Her goal is to take up opportunities in which she is able to apply both practical theory in the field of gender studies and psychotherapy practice into effective solutions that are quick to foster social justice.
