I tell the transformative stories of cultural learning and personal growth that come from study abroad. I work as the Senior Communications Officer at American Councils on the Critical Language Scholarship Program, an overseas language and cultural immersion program funded by the U.S. Department of State. Before joining American Councils, I worked for ISEP Study Abroad in communications, social media and event management. I am a graduate of George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government and received my B.A. in Sociology from the University of Mary Washington. I have experienced first-hand the life-changing power of study abroad, participating in a semester-long program in Florence, Italy, as an undergraduate and again in Japan during my master’s degree. In my free time, I enjoy practicing yoga, exploring D.C’s culinary delights, and plotting my next trip.
