VMWare Horizon Mirage is an IT management product with the almost-magical ability to switch some parts of a Windows installation while keeping the rest - e.g. upgrade a WinXP desktop to Win7 keeping drivers, software and user data; upload OS, user software and data to new laptop with new drivers when old one gets coffee spilled on.I identified unaddressed customer needs and future trends for VMWare Horizon Mirage, found creative ways to address these utilizing the existing abilities of Mirage and other VMWare technology, and wrote either a proof of concept to help management reach a decision or production code that was quickly released to users.This often involved diving into NTFS and Windows Internals at the bit level, and at times even into the ESXi kernel.
