Urologic medical device startup developing a novel therapy for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

-Established clinical feasibility of new transcatheter cardiovascular procedure through acute animal studies and bench testing.-Designed implant delivery system handle and components on SolidWorks then utilizing rapid prototyping to evaluate designs.-Hands-on prototyping of Nitinol-based implant designs utilizing laser-cutting, welding, and heat treatment processes.-Experience with processes such as injection molding, catheter engineering, stamping, laser-cutting, machining, etc.-Designed Pebax extrusions and led development of steerable catheter from concept to acute animal study in about 3 months, including managing a vendor and a presentation to EW Chief Scientific Officer and a physician Key Opinion Leader.

-Collaborated with fellows at UCSF in cadaver-based studies focused on lumbar and cervical spine.-Investigated pedicle screw pull-out forces associated with spinal surgery techniques.-Designed and built fixture for benchtop determination of loads and moments in human cervical spine.

-Interdisciplinary position interacting with R&D, Regulatory, Marketing, and Manufacturing-Worked on high-priority project team supporting minimally-invasive surgical device-Designed and built fixtures for product testing-Provided technical support to regulatory submission
