Since I was a kid, one of the biggest questions on my mind has been "how does this thing work?" whether I was playing a video game, riding my bike, or turning on the TV. This curiosity for what makes things tick drove me to study engineering at Texas A&M University. I had written a line or two of code beforehand, but once I was coding regularly for my engineering classes, it was like I had unlocked a knew way of understanding the world around me. After that, there was no turning back. I decided I'd study computer science and haven't looked back since.In the time since deciding to pursue coding as a career, I've taken some time to explore as many of my interests as possible through the classes I've taken. Some of my favorite classes were game design, game development, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud computing. Some of my proudest moments have been when I've been able to use knowledge from one class in a different class, like when I wrote the enemy AI for a game I was working on in game development.After my junior year at A&M, I went to intern at BGE Inc. as part of their team of solutions architects. I had a great time there and got lots of experience with Microsoft's PowerBI, Power Apps, and Power Automate. Additionally I learned what it meant to be on a team of developers. Another great part about interning was getting the opportunity to regularly meet with users directly to gather needs for applications and reports with many of those users being team leaders or directors.Apart from my experiences coding, I like to also think of myself as a leader. In my time at A&M, I was a member of the Corps of Cadets on top of being a student. As a cadet I learned firsthand how to operate as someone who takes orders, an instructor, a mentor, and a leader. Toward my senior year, I decided I wasn't getting enough leadership experience as a cadet and began volunteering to lead every group project for my classes that I could. I've found that everyone leads a little differently and my style of leadership can best be summarized as supportive; I want to see everyone on my team comfortable with what they are doing and engaged in order to get the most out of our combined abilities.Aside from coding and leadership, I like to spend my free time with my girlfriend, playing guitar/singing in my band that I've started with my brothers, playing video games, writing songs/fiction, journaling, and talking about philosophy with friends.Skills: C++, C#, C, Python, HTML, CSS, Java, Unity, Microsoft's Power Platform, Git/Github, Linux, Jira
