Over the course of my internship at Fremont Bank, I learned a lot of valuable skills and knowledge that is sure to help me in my future endeavors. I started the internship completing projects for loan servicing that helped the process flow more smoothly. After a few weeks working with servicing I was moved to work with the Commercial Process Improvement Team (PIT) because they were short staffed and testing, training, and implementing a new program called ECOS that would help simplify and streamline the loan process.During my time with the PIT I managed the Vendor Management spread sheet and folder as well as scheduling, emailing, and making the weekly newsletter. I was also responsible for handling large numbers of requests from individuals throughout the office and troubleshooting anything that may have come up in the process of delivering the final product. Finally, I was given the opportunity to sit in on a few important meetings including loan approval meetings and manager feedback meetings. To go along with this, I was also able to sit with individual people from all aspects of the Commercial Lending department which was very helpful in helping me to understand how loans flow through the office from commercial loan officers, to appraisal and underwriting, to processing and monitoring, to funding and quality control, and everything in between.
