The man that said this, Jocko Willink, forged this attitude in the thick of the Iraq war while leading a Task Unit of Navy SEALs. This attitude was developed out of necessity and I try to apply it in everything that I do, never settling for the status quo. I believe that the status quo breeds failure in all fields and especially sales, without being out of your comfort zone you cannot grow in your craft.Working a combination of Sales and Labor jobs has helped me come to appreciate the value of a hard days work. Working at a softball complex often required me to wake up at 5 in the morning to prepare fields after a rain storm and not leave until 10 at night. These days were often as gratifying as they were long because I could look and see the fruits of my labor, and I have come to adopt that attitude to my sales jobs. Although it was uncomfortable for me at first I came to not only appreciate the challenge of sales but also seek it out. Seeking the best possible outcome for my customers and I and I has become the new fruit of my labor that I will always strive for.
