At Collins, I served as a Certification Engineer, where I conducted acoustics testing on an AC unit and EMI/external temperature tests on a toaster. For the AC, I assisted in conducting multiple test setups using mufflers, baffles, and microphones to ensure precise noise measurements and identified internal fan issues causing external noises. In the EMI tests, I utilized lab equipment like oscilloscopes, LISN's and three phase wires to conduct a steady state AC/DC voltage test and assess the toaster's electrical limits. Additionally, I performed thermal analysis using thermocouples to evaluate the toaster's temperature performance during operation. Collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout these tests enhanced my technical problem-solving and teamwork skills.

As part of the Architecture sub-team of CSD, I have contributed to the architectural renderings of our tower (made out of balsa wood), which we take to the EERI (Earthquake Engineering Research Institute) Seismic Design competition annually. I utilize advanced tools like Lumion and Rhino to create both exterior and interior renderings collaborating closely with team members to ensure precision and creativity. Additionally, I engage in design groups to analyze and refine bracing patterns for structural integrity. Lastly, my role as a general team member extends to hands-on construction, where I work alongside the team to bring our designs to life, ensuring that the tower is built to the highest and safest standards.

At Whiting-Turner, I worked on two key projects: a museum renovation and the construction of a garage. The garage involved both concrete and timber, while the museum needed new glass imported from Germany, and some exterior updates. I coordinated with subcontractors across various trades, such as timber electrical, and HVAC, discussing civil and architectural drawings to nail down how everything would come together. Additionally, I used programs like Bluebeam and Onscreen-Takeoff to figure out real life dimensions of various drawings to give subcontractors a better idea of what they're dealing with before going on the construction site.
