As a life-long resident of southern West Virginia with experience in the private and public sector, I have worked throughout my career to leverage my operational experience and management capabilities to drive profitability within the companies and organizations which I have led. In my current role as President and Developer of Appalachian Salmon, I am excited to be structuring, prioritizing, and leading the development of a state-of-the-art land-based aquaculture project which will provide sustainably sourced Coho salmon to the North American market. The project will also bring 250 jobs to the community in which we are located. In my role, I am focused on moving the project forward while also developing and implementing a strategy to best position Appalachian Salmon for growth opportunities and longevity.Organically developing this project is a culmination of my experience as an industry executive, business founder, and Cabinet Secretary at the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection. In addition to Appalachian Salmon, my concurrent role at Caperton, Inc. provides strategic direction, acquisition, disposition, financing, work-out, board services, and project-oriented services to clients since 1989. We have generated and managed transactions for clients while consulting on a wide range of management functions, including operations, sales, and finance.
