What began as a 119 hour volunteer week led to me helping pave the road for Azadi Alliance, a coalition working alongside US Military, NGOs, and other foreign governments in order to evacuate highly endangered religious and ethnic minorities in the Afghan Refugee Crisis of 2021. I built our Airtable database to manage and automate 1600+ Afghans with their relevant documents; coordinated with 20 case managers, and recruited, hired, and supervised three employees.

At Counter Culture, I worked on the production team (in collaboration with marketing, sales, and roasting) contributing to each step in the process of putting freshly roasted beans into the hands of the consumer. I also conducted hiring interviews for potential new employers and advised changes for ergonomic improvements. A big win from my time there was the effort to bridge the workplace cultural rift between the native Spanish speaking employees and native english speakers.

I spearheaded a leadership development and theological education internship aimed at improving community engagement among college populations. In order to achieve this, I fostered a network among 10 pre-existing NGOs in the city for cooperation in partnered work and shared training and resources. My work included curriculum planning, recruitment and interview process, hiring, payroll, weekly theological and leadership trainings, and regular feedback and coaching of interns.
