As an undergraduate researcher, I was responsible for developing an assigned main project while providing assistance to the lab group when needed. My main projects included researching and designing a custom laser, designing and building a PCB for laser control, and optics design. My time in the lab was limited with the closure of labs due to COVID-19. However, in my time I had assembled the laser, tested and documented each component in the assembly, and resolved mechanical and power loss issues present in the build. My contributions in remote work included the design of 3 differing optical objectives using only off the shelf components. This was done in Zemax's Optic Studio where I also delivered a tutorial for future researchers in the lab.

Responsible for developing and researching lab methods to test the electrochemical oxidative power of varying electrode materials for water purification. - Designed custom electrodes to be used in small beakers where the electrode plates could be swapped.- Handled living cultures of Algae and toxic microcystins- Analyzed and characterized samples, using the data to find optimal purification conditions.
