Responsible for the making of an electric aircraft propulsion test laboratory.• Design: Designed the system by researching which commercially available products needed to be purchased and which components to fabricate myself.• Build: Assembled the purchased propeller, safety shroud, DC motor, motor controller, linear bearings, torque sensor and high power lithium polymer batteries to the fabricated motor saddle, box beam, table, linear bearing spacers, and a standard 19" rack controls enclosure for all the lab's controls.• Test: Wrote Labview code to measure and record the system's input voltage, current, and throttle setting as well as the output voltage, current, torque, thrust, and RPM.• Report: Wrote lab apparatus set-up manual, lab procedure report and detailed test findings.• Ongoing: This lab was intended to be incorporated into AERO 401 Propulsion Systems as the first electric aircraft propulsion system that Cal Poly Aerospace Engineering Undergraduates encounter and learn about.
