About Austin Eckert
Hello! My name is Austin Eckert, and I am a senior undergraduate student at the University of Kansas. I am an aspiring play-by-play and color broadcaster, currently working for KJHK 90.7 FM-Lawrence, home of KU student radio, and 810 Varsity for 810 Sports Radio. I am from Lee's Summit, MO, and was born in Lubbock, TX. I graduated from Lee's Summit North High School in July 2020.Going into my fourth year as a broadcaster, I have experience at various levels of competition, calling six different sports such as football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, and volleyball. At the high school level, I have experience broadcasting football, boys and girls soccer, and boys and girls basketball for 810 Varsity. At the collegiate level, I have experience broadcasting football, men's and women's basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball, and baseball for KU Athletics on KJHK 90.7 FM-Lawrence and the Jayhawk Sports Network. This recent summer, I was presented with an opportunity to fill in for a Sporting Kansas City soccer match broadcast on 810 Sports Radio-KC.I also have experience as a board operator and show host for KJHK 90.7 FM. I'm willing to work in other areas aside from the broadcast position and always looking to expand my skill set.Looking forward to connecting with you, and please don't hesitate to send me a message! Mid-Plains Baseball League
The Mid-Plains League is a summer collegiate baseball league based out of the Kansas City and greater Kansas area. I was the Co-Voice of the Mid-Plains league during the 2022 season. All of our broadcasts were streamed through the league’s own streaming network on Mixlr. I worked alongside Isaac Deer from Washburn, Drew Olson from KU and Washburn, Kyle.
