I am a lead engineer of the gas distribution department for the Des Moines area. I help manage the gas distribution team and am in charge of the new business projects and compliance orders. I assist with reviewing and approving designs, managing work flow, and assisting with designing as needed.

Within my role as a gas distribution engineer, I am responsible for the design and proper implementation of gas facilities. This may include designing sections of gas main to serve new customers, replace or relocate existing main to avoid conflicts with government projects or improve the reliability of the system, or design service locations and meter header design to properly serve our customers.

In addition to my position as a gas distribution engineer, I took on this additional role. I am responsible for leading the Cost Team of General Services to try and find new ways to reduce spending, find alternatives to improve efficiency, and analyze the data to choose the best option for cost savings and internal customer satisfaction.

I assist students with and explain the operation of different experiments in the chemical engineering lab. Such experiments include collecting data on pumps, heat exchangers, and valves.

I help transition incoming freshmen to life in college and assist in any way I can. This includes helping with homework, personal issues, and event planning designed for their enjoyment or self-improvement.
