Way Consulting Engineers is a small group which creates residential and small commercial structural and civil engineering plans.Day to day, I create the structural building plans for residential and commercial projects. This includes foundation, structural slab, framing, floor, roof, reflected ceiling, pool/spa, and braced wall plans. Our projects range from very small and simple home re-models, all the way through multi-story apartment complexes and office buildings. I am currently contracting for National Instruments in Austin, TX, the greatest city in the world :)The contract is not permanent, but I will be staying in Austin after my work with National Instruments is complete. NI is a well respected and admired company, as it should be. It is a place where employees can tell they are valued, and work can even seem like fun. My work there involves evaluating environmental compliance with the European Union's new Restricton of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) & Registration, Evalutation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) programs. I look forward to learning much more about the environmental side of the industry and all of NI's products.

Worked individually and in team settings to design new down-hole completion tools as well as customize existing designs for big-name customers including, but not limited to: Chevron, ExxonMobil, Shell, BP, Petro BRAS and Pemex. Worked with every part of the completion, from the Packer all the way thru the Screens. Also worked closely with Operations to establish a Well Pumping Plan as well as a Critical Well Review for every high-level project. Other duties included:• Received wellbore information from the customer and established the tooling design necessary for the completions requested.• Using SolidWorks 3D CAD software, designed the Service Tool and wrote orders for the customization of the Completion Tools to be completed by the Product Support Group• Calculated ratings and performance windows for the entire tool system, including but not limited to: o Burst/Collapse o Tensile o Combined Pressure Loading o Premium Thread Connection Torque o Packer Plugged/Unplugged o Tolerance Studies • Led design reviews with Operations to establish pumping procedures and go over validation of the ratings and positions for the well.• Finalized sales orders, and documented the lifecycle of the project as well as customer action items.• Evaluated non-conformances and defects in piece parts for potential failure modes as part of a machine shop support “on-call” rotation• Provided informal instruction to less experienced members of the team on basic design principles and processes.• Implemented redesign of entire product lines (Reciprocating Positioning Collet, 3.88 Bore Hydraulic Section) to improve functionality and performance.• Represented Halliburton in Oklahoma Universities ‘Halliburton Day’ and Engineering Job Fair.• Awarded twice MVP for overtime and ‘Maximizing Value-Added Performance’.
