I have spent 20 years in the U.S. Army as an EOD Technician. During this period I held a multitude of positions and responsibilities. As an EOD Team Member I was responsible for maintaining all equipment in good working order, maintaining or improving proficiency with all equipment, performing basic demolition procedures, and assisting the team leader with problem problem solving. As an EOD Team Leader I was responsible for overseeing all of these things, along with supervision of 3 personnel, accountability of over $1.5M worth of military equipment, and training both domestic and foreign partners on basic demolition and military ordnance safety. As the senior instructor at the EOD Advanced Leaders Course, I led the effort to stand up the new course location at Ft. A.P. Hill, VA. I worked with land owners at Ft. A.P. Hill to secure training locations, equipment storage, vehicle parking, ammunition, and building facilities. When I was a platoon sergeant I was responsible for much of the same things I was as an EOD Team Leader, but on a larger scale. I supervised 9 personnel (3x EOD teams), led multiple company wide training events on demolitions and EOD procedures, and trained and mentored 3x EOD lieutenants helping shape them to be proficient and competent leaders in the Army. At my last duty station I spent 3 years as a Battalion Operations Sergeant where I was responsible for distributing tasks to companies and tracking them to completion. Along with this I as the battalion ammunition manager where I was responsible for allocating ammunition to 7 companies, tracking requests for ammunition and processing all requests. I was also the battalion training coordinator and would coordinate large scale training events and evaluations for companies, if necessary, I would also conduct said evaluations looking at company overall proficiency and safety while conducting combat operations. During my time as the Senior Technical Intelligence Analyst, I supervised our military intelligence analysts ensuring they focused on appropriate information for our operations. With this we also built and distributed weekly products to units in locations ranging from Syria to Afghanistan. Several of our products on explosive devices found and our analysis of them were used by units at their home station to assist them in their pre-deployment training creating a more well rounded and better equipped war fighter.
