Promoted to assistant plant manager after my first year with the company. During that year I was able to help guide our plant during the largest outage in company history without having a plant manager during that time. I am responsible for all safety, quality, production, staffing and HR issues for all four shifts throughout the building. My team consists of 8 supervisors, 4 leads and 100 plant operators. We are a 24/7 facility and we are the largest dry ice building in the world.

I am the production manager at the largest dry ice facility in the world. I report directly to the plant manager and my team consists of 8 supervisors and 100 plant operators. I oversee the production of ice and the safe and timely completion of orders. I am responsible for the outside of the facility as well, those things include creating schedules with 3rd party companies such as waste management to empty our compactors and keep our waste water tanks emptied.

This was a start up operation at the Nissan plant in Canton Mississippi, I have personally written the standard operating procedures for the site and will be able to expand on new procedures as we develop and grow. I lead staff meetings and inform my managers what each day’s expectations are and every meeting starts and ends with safety. I focus on teamwork in every aspect because we work with Nissan to ensure that we are meeting goal to keep their operation moving smoothly because if we do not meet our goal it greatly affects the flow of the assembly lines at the Nissan plant. We operate with around 90 associates each day and I personally only report to the Senior logistics manager in the building.

I am tasked with managing the perishable weekday team. On a daily basis I have to manage 60 to 70 associates and promote a safe, productive and unbiased work environment. There are different challenges each day and I look forward to tackling those issues each day.

This position essentially grooms you to become a manager in the future. I had all of the duties of management except for the administration portion, this position made my move into management very smooth with me only having to focus on learning one new s kill instead of having everything thrown at me at once.

While driving a pallet jack I had to listen to my headset and pick the appropriate amount of cases and stack the cases safely so that the pallet could be transported by an 18 wheeler to the store.
