As a dedicated Software Engineer and Data Engineer, I bring a wealth of experience in cloud computing, software development, and data engineering to the table. My tenure at Caterpillar has been marked by leading transformative projects that significantly enhance operational efficiency and system reliability at scale. These projects have touched crucial parts of Caterpillar's business, such as supply chain and purchasing. I have played a significant role in digitizing Caterpillar’s business and helping it progress towards a data-driven approach, allowing us to remain extremely competitive in disruptive times.In my role as a Senior Data Engineer, I led initiatives to improve the performance and data accuracy of our strategic data pipeline, mapping part numbers from large machines down to piece parts. Utilizing AWS services, Snowflake, and Neo4J graph database technology, I delivered solutions that provided deeper insights into the construction of Caterpillar’s key products and identified critical risks and opportunities within our global supply chain.My journey began with the development and integration of Coupa’s SaaS platform for global use at Caterpillar. We traveled to understand user needs and build solutions to match. One key project I led early in my career was to automate over 40 regression scripts for key tests, eliminating the need for a dedicated testing team and drastically improving project velocity. Additionally, I developed and maintained vending machine software hosted on-premises across Caterpillar facilities, ensuring high availability, zero vulnerabilities, and operational efficiency through effective database management and feature implementation using Java and Oracle DB hosted on Windows servers and Windows POS machines.After the global rollout, I led efforts to transition the team from a waterfall methodology to agile scrum methodology, allowing us to iterate more quickly and work closely with the business. We pushed the system to extreme reliability, continually increasing first-time rates and reducing incident counts.
