Austin Murr retired in October of 2016 from the position of Senior Vice President of Business Development for QEP Resources, Inc. He worked in the oil and gas industry for 35 years as a landman, lawyer, commercial manager, business developer, and senior level executive in the United States, Africa and Latin America, including three years living and managing operations in Bolivia and Ecuador. He concentrated on acquisitions and divestitures during the last 15 years of his career. During his 12 years with the QEP Resources, Inc., and its predecessor company Questar Exploration and Production Company, he closed producing property acquisitions valued at more than 4 billion dollars, and divestitures valued at 1 billion dollars, helping to reposition the company’s asset portfolio from 90% natural gas to 60% oil by revenues. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and his law degree from the University Of Denver College Of Law, and is a member (inactive) of the Colorado and Texas Bars. He currently is an instructor in the capstone class for fourth-year energy management students at Western State Colorado University.Mr. Murr would be a good candidate for open board positions with energy companies given his vast experience internationally and domestically.
