Devised a LabVIEW VI for data acquisition and voltage driver control for a novel ion mobility spectrometry based sensor. Designed several iterations of voltage driving PCB’s using KiCAD and assembled the boards using a solder reflow oven. Successfully diagnosed and restored the functionality of a gas chromatograph which had been broken for several months prior.

Engineering InternNasa Ames Research Center Jun 2018 - Aug 2018Mountain View, CaMy project modified the flow module on the Flight Bioculture System to support the launch of live tardigrades (multicellular animals) to the International Space Station (launched Jun. 2021). I empirically modeled the thermal profile of the flow module in over 30 configurations to maximize the energy consumption efficiency of a thermoelectric cooling plate that maintains the bioreactor housing the tardigrades at the desired temperature. The results of my efforts yielded a configuration which required roughly half of the allotted power consumption in the steady state. I concluded the internship by presenting my findings to NASA affiliates at the Annual Poster Symposium. -
