Throughout my time at CWI, I have become fluent in AutoCAD, Civil3D, ICPR, and WaterCAD. I have developed calculation spreadsheets for hydrologic and hydraulic stormwater design for independent and equalized pond systems, and force main/lift station calculations. I am responsible for all design stages of the project from preliminary site planning, through drafting and plan preparation, stormwater and utility modeling/calculations, site grading, utility layout, etc. My duties also include the submission and permitting of projects with SJC, COJ, JEA, SJRWMD and FDEP. This involves pre-design meetings with reviewers, initial submittal to the agency, coordination with reviewers on solutions in the design, and responses to comments. In addition, I am responsible for the internal project management of the project budgets and schedules, and lead a team of several EITs and CAD technicians. On the operations side of the PARC Group, I learned and managed the development process of various residential neighborhoods from preliminary site planning with the engineer to the sale of lots to home builders. I regularly consulted and coordinated with civil engineers, landscape architects, general contractors, landscape/hardscape contractors, and home builders.

In my summer with the PARC Group, I gathered research on competitive communities in the 5-county MSA and presented my findings to the partners and project managers. This data helped them make strategic decisions including adjusting their lot prices and product offerings. In addition, I constructed and maintained a MS Access database with thousands of home sites which tracked data from the development of the lot to the completion of home construction. This database is regularly consulted even today, and helps PARC understand their communities’ performances and monitor the home builders’ sales data.

I spent my time at PWM in the field working on a survey crew. My responsibilities included installing lot corners in new residential developments, traversing through land to establish property boundaries, and operating the GIS and total station equipment.
